Kate came to the shelter because her original family had too many animals. She went into foster care so that she could recover from a cold and an eye infection. Her foster family absolutely adored her! Once she got over being sick and nervous, her playful and affectionate personality burst through and made being with her a real treat. Kate is now a happy and curious young cat who enjoys playing with a wide variety of cat toys but who also loves to be a companion cat. She finds a way to nestle right next to people on a chair and has begun to explore laps. She does not need to be the center of attention but is happy to simply be in the room with people she trusts. She runs to greet her human friends and meows with her high-pitched little chirp. She purrs and makes "happy paws" to show how excited she is to see those she knows. She has a good appetite and perfect litter box habits and takes good care of her soft grey fur. While in foster care, she met other cats, and she did well with them. She did not meet any dogs. Unexpected noises or movements still startle Kate, so a home without young children is probably the best fit for her. Kate is ready for a gentle, loving forever home. She has so much to offer a family who will help her feel safe and cherished.
